Tribute

Suzanne H. Miller, age 72, of Kenner, LA passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2023.
She was born on August 13, 1950, in Great Lakes, Illinois and has lived in Kenner, LA for the past 44 years.

Heaven gained an angel, and she is with God now. She was a wonderful wife, mom, and grandma (MeMe).

She shared an adventurous life with her husband, Richard W. Miller, and they were married for almost 50 years. The two were inseparable and had a storybook life together. She traveled the world with him to six of the seven continents and traveled on yearly family road trips to Pensacola, FL, Tybee Island, GA, and Fort Myers, FL. (on the road again…)

As the daughter of military parents, her travels began early in life. She lived in many states including Oklahoma, Illinois, Wisconsin, Mississippi, and finally settling in New Orleans, LA. She met many life-long friends along the way and was loved by all she met.

Suzanne was the foundation of the Miller Six Pack which then extended to her eleven grandkids. She loved being part of her kids’ and grandkids’ successes and she was their biggest cheerleader. The grandkids looked up to MeMe as a source of comfort and wisdom. She attended all the school functions, sporting events, and graduations. Her love language was expressed by sharing her delicious cooking, hanging out with her loved ones, and telling stories. Nothing was too serious---the pack had endless inside family jokes, a family circus song, and farm animal sounds (hee-haw).

She loved lighthouses, butterflies, hummingbirds, lilies, and the color burnt orange. She found so much joy in the simple things in life, especially through the lens of nature.

On the field, she was known as Mama Smurf. This nickname was coined by her husband (Papa Smurf) as well as his baseball team. Her presence was lively in the stands, and she cheered at every single baseball game.

One of her favorite pasts times was crabbing. She was known to many as the crab lady. She loved catching, cooking, and eating/sharing all that she caught. We believe she has the crab traps baited and is in heaven crabbing now.

She is proceeded in death by her parents, Severyn and Carmel Paige, and sister, Lourdes Judy Paige.

She is survived by her husband Richard W. Miller; four children: Jennifer M. Sosa (Marco) of Laplace, Jeannette M. Neves (Ernest) of Metairie, Karen E. Miller (Paris) of Kenner, and Richard (Ricky) M. Miller (Amber) of Abita Springs; and 11 grandchildren: Kyra Neves, Nathaniel Neves, Lauren Neves, Sara Sosa, Savannah Miller, Shae Schouest, Siena Miller, Sebastian Miller, Tristan Blank, Mason Holt, and Elijah Miller; and her brother Michael Paige.

She was always strong in her faith in the Lord, Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior in heaven for eternity. No more chills or suffering. Now you are wrapped in the warmth of God. Rest in peace Suzanne, our MeMe.
