Ryan August Vath, age 50, died peacefully with family present on Wednesday, June 1, 2022. He was born November 20, 1971, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to the late Eugene Joseph Vath Sr. and Patricia Ellen Corcoran. He was preceded in death by two of his brothers, Eugene Joseph Vath Jr., and Thomas Michael Vath. Ryan is survived by his brothers Eric and Patrick Vath; his sisters and their husbands, Cynthia (Cyndi) and Mark Valentine, Merrilyn (Mimi), and Dayle (Dee Dee) and Sean Goodgion, Pamela (Thomas) Vath; nephews and nieces and their spouses and children; Cory Baudier, Jessica, Hillary and Sam Valentine, Anastacia Vath Bergeron (Michael, Aurora and Audrey), Rhiannon (Anthony) Vath Cruz (Neveah and Madison) and Brad Meinke, Natalie (John III) Vath Calandro (John IV, Jeremiah and Jaxon) and Patrick (Victoria) Vath (Christopher and Dylann), Cameron Magoun, Sarah (Garret) Goodgion Broussard (August), Jacob Goodgion and Emma Goodgion. Valerie (George) Corcoran Tassin and many loved and cherished family and friends.
A native and resident of Jefferson, Louisiana for 50 years. Part of that time was spent in Alexandria, Gretna, Ville Platte, Houma and Thibodeaux, Louisiana. He worked as a greeter at Best Buy in Houma Louisiana and was extremely helpful with customers showing them where certain items were located. He greeted everyone with a smile. He also worked at Grenier Industrial. Ryan was a friend to all that he met. He could be spotted around the neighborhood riding around and visiting in his wheelchair with his “disco lights” blinking, He brought joy to all that saw or knew him. Some of his favorite past times were going to the casino, helping at the gym, watching the Saints, going down to the camp in Cocodrie, spending time with his family and of course, eating.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00p.m. followed by a Funeral Service on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at Tharp Sontheimer Funeral Home, 1600 N Causeway Blvd., Metairie, LA 70001.
