Jorge Luis Vides Rodríguez, 37 años, de Nueva Orleans, LA, falleció el 20 de abril de 2021. Sus padres son Jorge Vides Rubi y Elizabeth Padilla Rodríguez el 28 de diciembre de 1983 en La Lima, Honduras. Jorge será recordado por su gran personalidad, risa contagiosa, humildad y sobre todo su amor por su familia, amigos y comunidad. A lo largo de su vida, Jorge vivió en muchas ciudades y finalmente aterrizó en Nueva Orleans donde despegó su carrera como locutor de radio habiendo trabajado en La Mega, Latino Mix y Telemundo entre otros. Siempre dijo que sus puntos fuertes eran su fe y su perseverancia. Rendirse para él nunca fue una opción, después de todo él era un hijo de Dios. Siempre le gustó aprender cosas nuevas, andar en patineta, pasar tiempo con sus hijos, ver películas, dormir y escuchar sermones, lo cual aprendió a hacer con su mamá. Sus equipos deportivos favoritos fueron el FC Barcelona, ​​el Real España y los New Orleans Saints. Tenía pasión por la vida y se proyectaba en su trabajo en la radio, televisión y medios sociales. Su compasión se reflejó en las buenas obras que hizo por los demás y las guardó para sí mismo. Su comida favorita era una baleada que preferiría con pollo y sin mantequilla. También le gustaba escuchar música salsa y alabanzas. Jorge era más grande que la vida y siempre iluminaba con su presencia . Él era el centro de atención en cualquier lugar al que iba con personas que siempre disfrutaban de su compañía. Sus principales objetivos eran cumplir las promesas que les hizo a los demás y ser el mejor padre que pudiera ser. A Jorge le sobreviven sus padres, Jorge y Elizabeth; sus hijos David, Jade y Alejandro; sus hermanos Marco Antonio, Ana Elizabeth, Silvia Patricia y Keila Vanessa; y numerosos sobrinos y sobrinas. Se llevará a cabo un servicio de visitas el sábado 1 de mayo de 9 a 11 y de 1 PM a 3 PM. De las 11 am al mediodía, el pastor Johnathan realizará un servicio y de las 3 pm a las 4 pm, el padre Sergio realizará un servicio. Todo esto se llevará a cabo en Tharp-Sontheimer-Tharp Funeral Home, 1600 N. Causeway Blvd., Metairie, LA 70001. Se tomarán las precauciones de Covid. En una fecha posterior, Jorge será devuelto a su amada Honduras para su entierro. La familia está eternamente agradecida al empleador de Jorge, La Ideal Market, por hacerse cargo de todos los costos del funeral.

Jorge Luis Vides Rodriguez, age 37, of New Orleans, LA, passed away on April 20, 2021. He was born to Jorge Vides Rubi and Elizabeth Padilla Rodriguez on December 28, 1983 in La Lima, Honduras. Jorge will be remembered for his large personality, infectious laughter, humbleness and overall his love for his family, friends and community. Throughout his life, Jorge lived in many cities and finally landed in New Orleans where his career as a radio personality took off having worked at La Mega, Latino Mix, and Telemundo among others. He always said that his strengths were his faith and his perseverance. Giving up for him was never an option, after all, he was a son of God. He always enjoyed learning new things, skateboarding, spending time with his children, watching movies, sleeping and listening to sermons, which he learned to do with his mom. His favorite sports teams were FC Barcelona, Real España and the New Orleans Saints. He had a passion for life and it was projected in his work on the radio, television and social media outlets. His compassion was reflected in the good deeds he did for others that he kept to himself. His favorite meal was a baleada which he would prefer with chicken and no sour cream. He also enjoyed listening to salsa music. Jorge was larger than life and always lit up a room. He was the center of attention anywhere he went with people always enjoying his company. His major goals were to keep the promises he made to others and to be the best father he could be. Jorge is survived by his parents, Jorge and Elizabeth; his children David, Jade and Alejandro; his siblings, Marco Antonio, Ana Elizabeth, Silvia Patricia and Keila Vanessa; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 1st, 2021 from 9:00am to 11:00am and at 1:00pm to 3:00pm. From 11:00am to Noon, Pastor Johnathan will hold a service and from 3:00pm to 4:00pm, Father Sergio will hold a Service. All this will take place at Tharp-Sontheimer-Tharp Funeral Home, 1600 N. Causeway Blvd., Metairie, LA 70001. Covid precautions will be in place. At a later date, Jorge will be returned to his beloved Honduras for burial. The family is forever grateful to Jorge’s employer, La Ideal Market, for taking care of all the funeral costs incurred.
