Jilma Wales

Jilma Rosa “Nina” Wales, entered through the golden gates of eternal rest on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 in Metairie, LA, She was 85 years old. Nina was the daughter of Simeon Garcia and Mercedes Sanchez, both native of Republic of Panama from Pedasi, Los Santos. She was a widow after 20 years of marriage to Maurice I. Wales from Centerville, Iowa. Nina was born in Pedasi, Panama. Mr. & Mrs. Wales traveled throughout Panama, Hawaii, and the United States while Mr. Wales served with the U.S. Coast Guard. Later Nina traveled throughout England and Germany while living with daughter and son-in-law, MSgt (Ret) & Mrs. William M. Hunton, who were serving with the U.S. Air Force. Nina’s passing was preceded by her husband Maurice Wales in 1972, daughter Niva Murillo in 1994, sister Elvia Baker in 1996, brother Eustorgio Garcia in 2012, and granddaughter Chelsea Marie Hunton in 2016. Survived by her sister, Dilsa Hill; another sister Malvina Vasquez; her brother Armando Garcia; her daughter Mildred Hunton; granddaughter Niva R. Murillo; and another granddaughter Jessica Nicole Hunton. Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Nina will be greatly missed by all whose lives she gently touched. Private Service and Inurnment will take place in her beloved Pedasi, Panama at a later date.
