Donald Wayne Aymami

Donald Wayne Aymami passed away on February 1, 2023 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Gonzales, LA. Donald was a native of New Orleans and a resident of Metairie. He is survived by his children Beth Anne Aymami Rickerson (Julian) and Stephanie Lynn Aymami, his granddaughter Victoria Brianna Aymami, great-grandson Randy Joseph Smith Jr., his sister Brenda Aymami Conzonere (Samuel), brother Gary Lehde Aymami (Pamela), and five nieces and one nephew. He was proceeded in death by his father Walter Penington Aymami, his mother Mary Pamelia Pitcher Aymami, and his brother Walter Penington Aymami, Jr. He was honorably discharged from the United States Air Force in 1964, where he served as a Communication Specialist and Cryptographer. After his service, he was a Letter Carrier for the United States Postal Service for approximately 43 years. He was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers for approximately 45 years where he served as the Vice President and Arbitrator of the Letter Carriers Union of New Orleans for approximately 25 years.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Tharp Sontheimer Tharp, 1600 N. Causeway Blvd., Metairie, LA 70002 on Friday, February 10, 2023 at 10:00 AM followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. Interment in Cypress Grove Cemetery.
