Christopher “Chris” Horace Ezzell (65), son of the late Edward Ezzell and Eileen Fortune Ezzell, passed away on November 5, 2018. He was born on December 12, 1952 in Kansas City, Missouri, and grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. The family moved to New Orleans in 1968 where Chris attended and then graduated from Brother Martin High School. He was captain of the 1971 football team and earned all-district and all-state honors.
He attended and graduated from the University of New Orleans in 1978 with a degree in Management. He went on to be a successful claims adjuster with CIGNA and later with CNA. Later in his career he worked as an entertaining buggy driver in the tourism business in the French Quarter. He was a dedicated father and coached his daughters and friends on numerous youth soccer and softball teams. He was extremely proud of his daughter’s athletic accomplishments. He is survived by his sister Kathleen Ezzell of Dallas, Texas and a brother Eddie Ezzell of Tacoma, WA. and ex-wife Jan Gernhauser Ezzell. He is survived by his two daughters, Layne Ashley Ezzell of Jackson, Wyoming and Kiley Eileen Ezzell of Nashville, Tennessee.
Friends and relatives are invited to a memorial service at Tharp-Sontheimer-Tharp, 1600 N. Causeway Blvd on Friday, November 9, 2018 from 11 AM to 1 PM.
